Biography
Kate Maier graduated summa cum laude from Florida Atlantic University's Wilkes Honors College in May 2023 and received a Bachelor's degree (BS) with a significant concentration in computational neuroscience and a Max Planck Honors distinction. Before joining Yale's Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program (INP) as a Wu Tsai Graduate Fellow and NSF Graduate Research Fellow in August 2023, she worked in the Bidaye Lab at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience investigating the neural circuit basis for locomotor decisions in Drosophila melanogaster using deep learning tools and machine learning techniques. She is always game for a new restaurant, a scenic hike, or a friendly match of eight ball!
